If Your Baby Has Trouble Latching

1 – Image of a woman using her breast to tickle the baby's lips.

Tickle baby's lips to encourage him to open wide.

2 – Image of a baby opening his mouth wide and being pulled onto the breast with the nipple pointing to the roof of the baby's mouth and the baby's chin and lower jaw coming on to the breast first.

Point nipple to the roof of baby's mouth and when open wide, pull him onto the breast, chin and lower jaw first.

3 – Image of a baby with his mouth open wide and properly latched on a woman's breast.

Watch the lower lip and aim it as far from base of nipple as possible, so the baby's tongue draws lots of breast into the mouth.
